Vellore, June 19 (MExN): Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) emerged as one of the top institutions in India for campus recruitment with a record 9,381 placement offers rolled out by 740 companies for the 2021 graduating batch.
According to a press release from the VIT, for the third successive year, more than 700 companies have visited the Institute for campus placement and the number of offers provided this year is the highest for VIT since its inception.
“This number is nothing short of a milestone considering the severe impact of the prevailing COVID 19 pandemic. This record number of offers includes Super Dream and Dream offers through the campus recruitment held virtually,” the release informed.
Students belonging to all the four campuses of VIT – Vellore, Chennai, Amaravathi (Andhra Pradesh) and Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) took part in the centralised campus recruitment process.
The Campus Recruitment was held for the first time at Bhopal and Amaravathi campuses and more than 90% of the students from these campuses have received placement offers from top MNCs.
As many as 1,132 students have received Super Dream offers – more than Rs 10 lakh per year compensation – from over 100 companies which include among others, Microsoft, Amazon, Paypal etc.
Seven students received the highest annual compensation of Rs 44 lakh per annum offer from Microsoft.
Dream internship and placement offers with annual salary of more than Rs 5.5 lakh per year has been offered to 2,353 students, VIT informed.
The Post Graduate students of engineering and MCA at VIT are allowed for a 10-month industrial internship and 223 post graduate students of the 2021 graduating batch have been offered internships by 140 companies, it added.
Many among these students have received their full time conversion and started to join the companies.
The post graduate internships started in March 2021 as part of the 2022 graduating batch placements process. So far, 72 companies have finished their selection process by offering internships to 660 post graduate students, VIT informed.
Good placement opportunities have also been offered to management students of VIT Business School. Over 100 companies have offered jobs to MBA students of VIT Vellore and Chennai with the highest offer being Rs 14 lakh per year.
MSc students have been placed in Biotech companies receiving a highest annual salary of Rs 9 lakh per year and Rs 6.5 lakh per year from Stryker and Pharma Ace respectively.
The campus recruitment process for the 2022 graduating batch for undergraduate Engineering students at VIT will begin in July, 2021, the Institute stated.
Dr G Viswanathan, Founder and Chancellor of VIT thanked all the companies for reposing their faith in VIT and for recruiting students in large numbers every year.
