
Kohima, August 18 (DIPR): The monthly meeting of the Kohima District Planning & Development Board was held on August 17 at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Dr. Nicky Kire, chairman of NKVIB.
The Board finalised and unanimously approved the LADP schemes for 2009-10 consisted under sector and constituency wise break-up of the district fund allocation. The Local Area Development Programme equally allocates Rs.74.75 lakhs to all the constituencies under Kohima, namely 8th Western Angami, 9th Kohima town, 10th Northern Angami–I A/C, 11th Northern Angami–II A/C, 12th Tseminyu, 14th Southern Angami–I A/C and 15th Southern Angami–II A/C, and Rs.1.75 crore under the Common Pool.
Regarding the upgradation of Trinity School at New Police Reserve, Phesama, and renaming of Government Primary School, Rüso Bawe, to Khietsolie Memorial GPS, the Board entrusted the respective DIS to verify and give a report during the next meeting. The Tsiemekhuma Village Council had applied for financial assistance for construction of a ‘Dahou’ for which the Board resolved to refer the case to the RD department for consideration. The DPDB also decided to endorse to the State High Level Committee regarding the naming of Science College Road to Rev. Dr. Neiliezhu Road.
The Board further decided to forward the applications of 11 schools under Kohima to the government for grant-in-aid for 2009-10. The schools include Christian Mission School Sechu, Oking Christian School Kitsubozou, CD King School, Kohima, Don Bosco School, Chiephobozou, Mt. Sinai School Kohima, Schola Lojes High School Kohima, Baptist Mission School, Kohima, G. Rio School Kohima, Grey School Kohima, Children’s Christian School Kohima and St. Joseph School Kohima.
