76 new COVID-19 cases detected in Nagaland

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 15 (MExN): 76 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Nagaland on October 15 taking the State’s tally to 7,492. The new cases include 38 from Kohima, 15 from Tuensang, 11 from Dimapur, 5 from Mon, 3 from Zunheboto and 1 from Mokokchung. 

Of the cases on October 15, 17 are from the armed forces/security personnel, 19 are returnees and travelers, 36 are traced contacts and 4 are frontline workers. 

Meanwhile, the State also recorded 100 recoveries on October 15. The new recoveries include 58 from Mon, 27 from Kohima, 8 from Tuensang and 7 from Dimapur. The number of active cases in the State now stands 1,448 and there have been 17 deaths. 

As per the severity of symptoms, 1,394 active cases are asymptomatic, 40 active cases are mild, 10 active cases are moderate on oxygen, 2 active cases are critical with oxygen and 2 active cases are on ventilators.

Further, out of 7,492 positive cases, the distribution across various categories includes 3,395 from armed forces/police, 1,586 returnees, 2,134 traced contacts and 377 frontline workers.

Meanwhile, a total of 56,196 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 54,898 samples have been received till date. In addition, a total 30,932 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat and results of 30,862 samples have been received. Through Rapid Antigen Test 2,699 samples have been tested.
