Kohima, November 17 (MExN): The 7th Hornbill Half Marathon organised by 3E Nagaland will be held on December 3 in Kohima as part of the forthcoming annual Hornbill Festival of Nagaland. However, in view of school exams and technical reasons, race categories which were organised earlier for students and differently abled people, are to be excluded this year.
A press note informed that only the standard half marathon covering a distance of 21.0975 KM will be conducted and both men's and women's categories will carry cash prizes as follows: Winner - Rs. 50,000; Runner up - Rs. 20,000; Third place - Rs. 10,000; and Fourth place - Rs. 5,000.
All top 10 runners in each category will be given merit-cum-timing certificates while all runners who complete their races will receive completion certificates.
Registration fee for the race will be Rs. 300 and due to time constraints, registration will be carried out only in two locations in Kohima - Sportsworld Taxi Stand and 3E office, Dzevi Building, near Local Ground North Gate. Last date of registration for local runners will be November 30. For outstation runners, spot registration will be offered till December 2, 4:00 pm at the start/finish venue, New Secretariat parking lot.
