Usütomi Sports Association-A emerge as the champions of the Saptiqa Area Sports Association football tournament for second consecutive time on January 22.
Saptiqa, January 23 (MExN): The Usütomi Sports Association-A (USA) was declared the second consecutive champions of the Saptiqa Area Sports Association (SASA) football tournament in Usütomi village on January 22.
Shena Old Sports Association and USA-B team respectively were first 1st and 2nd runners up of the 7th SASA tournament which concluded on January 22.
Meanwhile, Kivi Chophy of USA-B was awarded the best player of the tournament and Nito Achumi of SNSA (Shena New Sports Association) was adjudged the best goalkeeper.
Amirto Achumi, President Dimapur District Motor Parts Dealers’ Union, who as the guest of honour on the concluding day encouraged the players to be bold and smart enough to work smarter and harder even in the days to come, and represent the state or even national level.
He also noted that while skills and talent posses by Nagas are remarkable, a little more hardwork and discipline will take them farther.
Achumi also lauded the SASA president SASA and his team for the success of the tournament.
SASA President also expressed gratitude to the frontal organisations of Usütomi village for succusefful hosting the tournament, a press release informed.
