
DIMAPUR, FEB 12 (MExN): The Ministry of Rural Development has released the second installment of Central assistance of Rs. 57.49 lakh under Indira Awas Yojana (IAY) to the 8 District Rural Development Agencies (DRDA) of Nagaland, for the year 2006-07. The DRDAs are Kohima, Mokokchung, Phek, Wokha, Zunheboto, Kiphire, Longleng and Peren.
The grant is towards the Plan-expenditure and will be utilized for construction of new houses/upgradation of kutcha houses into pucca houses, subject to the conditions laid down in the guidelines under the IAY. The expenditure on the implementation of the programme is to be shared on 75:25 basis between the Centre and the State respectively. The State Government is to release its share within a month of the date of release of the Central assistance.
The amount is released subject to the condition that all the DRDAs shall furnish a certificate that at least one meeting of the State Level Vigilance & Monitoring Committee during the year 2006-07 has been conducted. The DRDAs of Kiphire, Longleng, Mokokchung, Peren, Phek, Wokha and Zunheboto shall also ensure preparation of permanent IAY Waitlists and furnish a certificate to the effect that the Permanent IAY Waitlists have been prepared and displayed before 31.03.2007.
