Meanwhile, the Joint Council, in a meeting, strongly condemned the killing of three of its cadres on April 29, 2025, between New Kubin and Herakilua village in NC Hills, allegedly by Indian security forces and Assam Police. It questioned the Indian government’s credibility regarding its commitment to the ceasefire agreement, which it stated applies without territorial limits to all areas inhabited by Nagas.
The Council alleged that during the period of ceasefire, Indian security forces have been responsible for the killing of 201 Naga Army cadres under various pretexts.
