The Western Sumi SA (Niuland) and Dynamo FC (Dimapur) today registered win in their respective matches at the ongoing 8th edition of Capt. N Kenguruse Memorial Football Tournament 2024 at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.
Western Sumi SA-2, Vanguard Academy-1
In the first match, Western Sumi SA edge past Vanguard Academy (Tseminyu) in a closely contested match that ended 2-1.
Kakhevi opened the scoring for Western Sumi SA in the 10th minute while Khiti Kath connected equalizer of Vanguard Academy in the 26th minute.
The deadlock persisted until the closing stages when Thulunso emerged as the hero for Western Sumi SA, netting the winning goal in the 85th minute.
Dynamo FC-3, Viswemi FC-0
Dynamo FC defeated Viswemi FC (Kohima) 3-0 in the second match.
Sunep set the tone early for Dynamo FC, converting a penalty in the 9th minute.
The second half saw Dynamo FC cement their victory with two quick goals, as Ato found the net in the 64th minute, followed by Nyathang’s strike just two minutes later.
