The Assam Rifles orchestrated a trophy parade on October 26 in Kohima, marking the announcement of the 8th Captain N Kenguruse, MVC Football Tournament. The parade showcased the tournament trophy while celebrating the enduring bond between the Naga community and the Assam Rifles.
The parade route, stretching from Lerie junction to High School junction via BOC, Phoolbari, and Tinpati junctions, featured traditional Naga musical performances and a live band, drawing enthusiastic crowds along its path.
The procession served to highlight the tournament’s schedule and its increased prize pool of Rs 6 lakhs, with the champions set to receive Rs 3 lakhs.
This tournament honors the legacy of Captain N Kenguruse, MVC, while fostering sporting excellence among the Naga youth. The tournament is scheduled to commence on November 2 and will feature teams from all districts of Nagaland.
