8th Dimki Session of ZB (AMN) held

Imphal, April 13 (MExN): The 8th Dimki Session (Assembly) of the Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland) was held on April 12 at Senapati’s Makuilongdi village – the cradle of Zeliangrong civilization as well as the place of dispersal of Zeliangrong people in different directions.   Many important decisions concerning the Zeliangrong people in the region were adopted during the assembly which was attended by many prominent Zeliangrong leaders, village chiefs, intellectuals, youth, students etc. from Assam, Manipur and Nagaland, a press release from the ZB (AMN) informed.   Among others, the Dimki Session adopted a resolution that the Zeliangrong people will not allow its trifurcation into Zeme, Liangmai and Rongmei by any force or element “within and without.”   A decision to ban all kinds of exploration of natural resources including petroleum products was also adopted.   Further, the Dimki Session took serious note over the threat to Zeliangrong people in Assam particularly Dima Hasao district, erstwhile NC Hills. The ZB informed that it would take the matter up the central government and all authorities concerned. It also asked the Zeliangrong people to remain alert.
