97 children of DEF Kohima Police personnel shine in board exams

97 students, children of DEF Kohima Police personnel who excelled in the HSLC and HSSLC 2025 examinations were honoured on May 6.

Kohima, May 6 (MExN): A felicitation programme was organised at the SP Office conference hall, Kohima on May 6, to honour the academic accomplishments of 97 students, children of DEF Kohima Police personnel who excelled in the HSLC and HSSLC 2025 examinations.

The event aimed to celebrate their hard work, inspire continued academic dedication, and acknowledge the supportive role of their families and the police community in their success, stated a press release received here.

Among the achievers, Takayuba Ao, son of UBC Imlinungsang Ao and a student of Model Higher Secondary School, Kohima, stood out for securing the 9th rank in the Commerce stream. He was felicitated with a cash award of Rs 10000, while the remaining 96 students received Rs 1000 each as a token of appreciation.

The programme was chaired by Addl Superintendent of Police, Kohima. In his address, Teisovise Metha, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Kohima commended the students for their perseverance and urged them to pursue future endeavors with the same diligence and integrity. He emphasised the importance of education as a foundation for societal contribution and extended heartfelt wishes for their continued success in academics and beyond. 

Johnny M Patton, Dy SP (R), Kohima also delivered a short talk on how to be successful in life. The event concluded with a prayer by Rev Vesotsü Rhakho, Pastor of PUBC.
