SP Wokha, Manojkumar declaring the championship open.
DIMAPUR, JANUARY 29 (MExN): Wokha District Football Association (WDFA) organized its 9th edition of LFA at local ground Wokha on January 29, with Manaojkumar, IPS S.P, Wokha as the special guest.
Addressing during the opening ceremony, the SP congratulated WDFA for initiating such event and giving platform to the youths to showcase their talents. He also appealed to the players to strive hard for excellence so that they excel and can play in the national and even international level.
Altogether 16 teams are taking part in the tournament. The champion of the tournament will walk away with a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh with running trophy certificates and medal.
The first match of the tournament was played between defending champions NRSA and SP XI, the defending champions defeated SP XI by 7-1, Nyanthung of NRSA become the first player to score hatrich who scored five goals. The lone goal for SP team was scored by Zubenthung in the 14th minutes of the game.
In the second match Humtso Football club beat Brothers Football club by 3-1. Aremo, Yanchibemo and Yanchumbemo found the net for Humtso FC in the 19th, 69th and 70th minutes of the game.
