Kobulong, May 21 (DIPR): The bimonthly coordination meeting of government departments under EAC Kobulong circle was held on May 20 at the office chamber of EAC Kobulong. The Officer In-Charge of the Kobulong Police Station, S.I. Bendangmeren, in his speech said that though the Police Station was set up in 1982, yet not a single FIR (First Information Report) had been lodged in the police station till date, even when there were major incidents.
On the other hand, the public would often come to the station asking for compensation which, he said, could not be taken up since there was no FIR. He also urged the government officials to be regular in their office and perform their duties with commitment and dedication. EAC T Lankosen Tsanglao, who presided over the meeting, reviewed the minutes of the last meeting and developmental activities in the last two months. The EAC expressed concern over the various problems being faced by the people of Kobulong and cited irregular power supply as an example. He said that there was no electricity under Kobulong circle for the last twelve days.
Extension Officer for Sericulture, Bendangmeren, highlighted the progress in the supply of Eri seed within the district and outside from two Seri seed centres at Kobulong and Longjang. It was decided during the meeting to select at least one department to present their departmental activities in the next meeting. The next meeting has been fixed for July 15.
