A pre-emptive thought

Kevitho Kera

While it is laudable that the Four lane project is picking up pace and this will be such a huge relief to commuters as well as boost logistics which will in turn positively affect the progress of Nagaland.

Not being morbid but bigger and better roads means speeding and which means road accidents. So my suggestion (which is actually a friend's suggestion), why not multiple Trauma centres be set up along the four lane stretch, filled with medical professionals specifically trained in trauma cases because in a road accident, seconds counts until shifted to a more equipped hospital. A few seconds in a trauma centre can save lives.

The government can undertake PPP with private hospitals and set up multiple trauma centres in the entire four lane stretch for e.g maybe one in Chumukedima, another in Pherima, one in Piphema and so on.
