
DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 5 (MExN): The Angler’s Association Nagaland (AAN) is all set to host the highly anticipated 6th Nagaland Hornbill Angling Festival on December 7 at the picturesque Mangsungtchu, Ashaa Village, near the Doyang Reservoir, Wokha District.
The competition, expected to draw anglers from across the country, is jointly organized by the Department of Fisheries and Aquatics, Government of Nagaland (GON) in collaboration with the Angler’s Association Nagaland and the All India Game Fishing Association (AIGFA), a press release issued by AAN informed on Tuesday.
The festival will have a total prize pool of Rs 2.40 lakh in cash and over Rs 1 lakh worth of angling gear from world-renowned fishing brands. The winner will take home a cash prize of Rs 1.50 lakh, along with a trophy and a certificate.
The festival will feature food stalls and kiosks offering fishing gear at discounted prices, making it a perfect event for both seasoned anglers and beginners to gear up for the competition. Attendees can also look forward to an evening of entertainment with bonfires, karaoke, and games after the competition.
In addition to the main event, the Department of Fisheries and Aquatics will allow anglers to fish at the Department’s fishery pond at Thizama (Dimapur), available from December 1 to 10, 2024, for a nominal fee.
The Angler’s Association Nagaland has invited all fishing enthusiasts to test their skills, enjoy the natural beauty of Doyang, and be part of this exciting festival.
