Dimapur, February 25 (MExN): Dr. S. Amos Lkr, Nagaland State Convenor, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has opined that if AAP comes to power in Nagaland, it will take sports and games as top priority and assist sportspersons with advanced training, energize local soccer clubs, and open the first sports university in the country. A press release received here informed that Dr. Amos in his speech also enlightened the students about the importance of sports, how it provides enjoyment and entertainment to both the participants and spectators. Sports, he added, also allow building new friendship, identifying potentials, talents of individuals and group dynamics. He cited the example of how Dr. T Ao brought pride to the country by leading the Indian football team at the Summer Olympics in 1948. In retrospection of those days, he stated, Nagaland by now should have excelled as number one compared to entire NE states, but expressed dismay to see how the state is lagging far behind in all spheres, especially sports and games. He alleged that all the funds from Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs were also misused.
