ABAM & ABC hold fellowship at Impur

Mokokchung, October 5 (MExN): The Ao Baptist Church Association (ABAM) and Assam Baptist Convention (ABC) held a fellowship at Covenant hall, Impur on October 4.

“This was the first time between these two having such fellowship where one is encouraged to build strong rapport and to work together in God's mission,” stated a press release issued by ABAM, Executive Secretary, Rev Dr Mar Atsongchanger.

The ABC headed by Rev. Benard K Marak, General Secretary, Assam Baptist Convention with 20 leaders representing six associations attended the fellowship.

During the fellowship, ABAM Executive Secretary stated that this is the first time in ABAM history to have such fellowship with a Convention here at Impur. Of many historic events between the people of Assam and the Ao Naga, Evangelist Godhula Brown from Sibsagar, Assam has been the limelight following his historic entry to Naga hill in 1871 as forerunner of Dr. Edward Clark. Since then, Assam Baptist Convention and the Ao Baptist Church Association has always been more close than any other Associations.

Rev. Benard K Marak, General Secretary, ABC said that this fellowship is more than a fellowship as it aims to build an encouraging rapport with ABAM and to work together as the Convention aims to build 10000 churches by 2030 in Assam.

Following the fellowship, ABC also held their Executive Committee meeting at Impur on October 4 and 5.
