ABAM staff appeals Govt to ‘maintain Rights’

Mokokchung, January 23 (MExN): The Ao Baptist Arogo Mundang (ABAM) conducted a staff seminar on ‘Awareness on Christian persecution in India’ in Impur, Mokokchung on January 21 and 22.

As per a press release from ABAM Executive Secretary, Rev Dr Mar Atsongchanger, it appealed to every citizen and Christian in India “to seriously ponder on our future and make serious appeal to the Government to maintain Rights as enshrined in the Indian constitution.”

The seminar deliberated on how Christians in various parts of India are persecuted on regular basis, “some even going to the extent of forfeiting from all communal facilities.”

It also noted that the rate of persecution in India has been doubling every year since 2014 “which is a serious threat to Christians in particular.”

ABAM called upon the Christians in particular, to come together in unison and “voice out our rights so as to save our country from the anti human government,” considering the “random rule of the present Indian government,” making it hard to survive for the Muslim, Sikh and Christian.
