ABAM’s seminar examines ‘trending social issues’

Impur, May 7 (MExN): The ABAM (Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang) Social Concern organised a one-day seminar on "Trending Social Issues" for ABAM Zones 1–7 on May 6 in Impur.  The seminar focused on mental health and homosexuality, which it described as two of the most “pressing social issues of our time” with Dr Watinaro Longkümer, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Psychology and Counselling  St Joseph University, as resource person.

As per a press release from ABAM, by focusing on these topics, the event aimed to raise awareness and deepen understanding within the community, igniting vital conversations that can drive meaningful change.

The Church's commitment to guiding individuals is essential, and its full-time staff plays a crucial role in providing support and care to those in need, it said.

Accordingly, recognising this importance, the seminar was organised to offer the staff an opportunity to enhance their skills and increase their impact on the community, it added.

Altogether, 175 full-time workers from 58 churches under ABAM attended the seminar.
