DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 25 (MExN): The NNC has clarified on the write-up of V. Khehoto Zhimomi pointing out that the latter was trying “to cover his shame by diverting the main issue of misappropriation of NNC fund to unfounded and false charges against NNC leadership”. “A man of seventy plus defector telling lies is a disgraceful to the Naga society and his community in particular”, stated a press note from V. Kiso, Information & Publicity Wing, NNC.
The NNC press note stated that it was the democratic political institution of the Nagas and was functioning “democratically basing on the majority voice of the House of Central Executive Council the highest decision making body”. Therefore, the press note stated that there was “absolutely no autocratic functioning nor one man rule in the NNC set up” and rather pointed out that this was the best democratic set up of functioning among the Naga Political Groups. “Whatever decision is taken or resolved is purely basing on thorough debate and discussion in the House and the majority voice of the members is taken in this matter of functioning. Therefore everybody should be very clear about this matter especially V. Khehoto Zhimomi who experiences the functioning is trying to mislead the people to cover his shame and misdeed”.
The press note stated that V. Khehoto Zhimomi “he did even control Union Territory besides his Sumi Region of his jurisdiction under him and did not allow Mr. N.K. Assumi the Chairman of UT-1 to function”. Rather it pointed out that V. Khehoto was the one who wanted to control everything and function autocratically and could not be succeed therefore defected again to the “last unrecognized and morally degraded so called leadership of Z. Hozheto and Kiumukam whom he correctly wrote about just a month back”.
The press note stated that the “NNC Central support the Union Territory-1 Chairman’s correct statement published on 23th September (yesterday) in Nagaland Post”.
