Dimapur, September 28 (MExN): The Assembly Constituency Congress Committee (ACCC) has declared the appointment of Tsenthungo Lotha as the President, Dimapur District Congress Committee (DCC) as “null and void.”
The ACCC in a press release issued by President 2-Dimapur II/AC, I Asang Jamir stated that 5 ACCCs declare the appointment of Tsenthungo Lotha as “null and void unless it met the demand of mass majority decision and all official events shall not allow functioning under the office premises until this matter is resolved.”
It stated that “in pursuant to the meeting of the 5 ACCCs, frontals along with Dimapur District in charge dated September 27,” the 5 ACCC expressed “displeasure and resentment” over the appointment of Lotha as President Dimapur DCC.
“In this regard, the 5 ACCC and all frontals through proper channel deliberated that this appointment is absolute unconstitutional without taking the consent of the Dimapur District in charge, Jonathan who is also vice president of NPCC and senior party workers without following any rulings and provisions enshrined in the party constitution,” it said.
It held that the “proposal made by Jonathan along with all party officials and workers were outwardly rejected superseding the constitution and senior party workers.”
In this connection, the 5 ACCCs further demanded “immediate revocation of the appointment made by the party high officials and follow democratic process.”
