
Zunheboto, March 14 (MExN): The Sümi Hoho today condemned the reported firing incidents at the residences of public leaders and urged the law enforcing agencies to act swiftly and apprehend the culprit(s).
“Of late, there are instances of miscreants’ gun firing in the residences of public leaders. It is learnt that on the midnight of March 6, some miscreants fired at the residence of former Member of Nagaland Legislative Assembly Pukhayi Sumi,” the organisation stated in a press release.
“Such act of life attempt is an act of cowardice which is condemnable by every sensible citizen,” added the release appended by Sümi Hoho President, I Nikheto Jjmomi; General Secretary Dr Vihuto Asumi ; and Sumi Kükami Hoho President, Kashito Yepthomi.
“The Sümi Hoho urges the law enforcing agencies to act swiftly and apprehend the culprits. Such act of lawlessness should have no place in a civilized society,” it added.
In an earlier release, the Sümi Hoho has also condemned alleged “firing incident” at the residence of the Lok Sabha MP Tokheho Yepthomi on the night of March 6 in Naharbari, Dimapur.
While condemning the incident, the Western Sumi Hoho, on March 9, has also demanded the authorities to thoroughly investigate the matter and book the culprits as per the provisions of the law.
