Active Learners’ Academy launched in Dimapur

Active Learners’ Academy – a centre of excellence to train and coach the educated unemployed youth, jobseekers, civil service aspirants, college and school students, was formally launched on Saturday in Dimapur.  

Located at Naharbari Junction, NH-29, opposite Hollotoli School, the academy will impart training and coaching in three keys areas: 1. Soft skills and professional training – communication skills including written, verbal and body language, resume writing with personal dossier and art of profiling, presentation skills and techniques, work ethics and professionalism, art of public speaking and interpersonal skills and its development. 2. State civil service coaching (NPSC) – quality teaching by experienced teachers, well –designed and updated study materials, weekly one-on-one sessions, regular class test, mock test, doubt clearing sessions, weekly motivational class by master trainer etc. 3. Class X (regular and repeater) – doubt clearing session after every lesson, coaching and feedbacks to improve learning curve, parent, teacher and student interactive sessions every two months, weekly class test, mock test and questionnaire session etc.  

Proprietor, Active Learners’ Academy, Apem Hongvah, in his introductory note said the academy aims at bringing out the best in an individual by making him or her learn through active participation, as opposed to traditional way of learning where there in only a one way traffic. “We believe learning is should be fun and is a two-way process where mentor and mentee relationship can best be explored by giving world class professional training”, Apem said.  

Apem, a master trainer who earlier worked as corporate trainer, human resource recruiter and a counselor of Alternative Learning System, also assured that it is the endeavour of the academy to guide both the parents and students in choosing the right career path of the students in the present challenging and competitive world. He also dwelled on the need to empower human resources (soft skills training) with special focus on Government of India Act East Policy and the interest of 500 fortune companies in Nagaland to absorb the skilled youth and awareness on civil services exams.
