Kohima, June 25 (MExN): A coordination meeting of sub-divisional departmental heads of offices was held at the Additional Deputy Commissioner's (ADC) office chamber in Chiephobozou on June 24, where issues relating to staff attendance, public service delivery, environmental initiatives and monsoon preparedness were discussed.
Chairing the meeting, ADC Chiephobozou Vekusheyi Rhakho, NCS, stressed the need to improve staff attendance and urged all departments under the subdivision to ensure that offices remain open and accessible to the public.
He said government offices should effectively address public grievances and perform their duties efficiently in the interest of citizens.
The ADC also appreciated all heads of offices for their cooperation and active participation in the observance of World Environment Day 2026 through cleanliness drives and tree plantation activities. He specifically thanked the Forest Department for making timely arrangements for the supply of saplings.
Rhakho encouraged all departments to continue undertaking cleanliness and plantation initiatives within and outside their office premises as a collective effort towards maintaining a clean and green environment.
The meeting further discussed preparedness for the monsoon season. The ADC requested the Sub-Divisional Officer (Roads and Buildings), Chiephobozou, to clear the landslide at Tsiesema along the National Highway, install a reflector at the High Court bypass road and put up speed breakers at the DIET Junction in Chiechama.
Issues relating to the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026, and census enumeration at respective places of posting were also deliberated during the meeting.
The meeting concluded with a call for greater inter-departmental coordination to ensure effective service delivery and timely implementation of developmental and civic initiatives across the subdivision.
