Flays 7AR for interrupting social programme
Dimapur, November 14 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN on Sunday expressed ‘strong resentment’ at the alleged ‘arbitrary interference’ during a social programme organised by civilians which was held recently.
In a press statement issued by its MIP, the GPRN/NSCN stated that the group’s sporting team had participated in the recently concluded sports meet organised by the Ato Area Sporting Association (AASA) at New Showuba village as a show of solidarity and encouragement towards the youth.
“However, on the 11th and 12th of November 2021 the troopers of 7 Assam created nuisances by interrupting the contingents in the midst of play. And on the second day, the troopers led by the COY Commander of Nihokhu Post forcefully halted the sporting team to participate, in spite of repeated pleas made by the Organiser and CFSB office as well,” it stated.
Asserting that the participating team neither posed a threat to peaceful atmosphere of the area nor possessed any arms to attract Cease-fire Ground Rules (CFGRs), the GPRN/NSCN termed the interference as “an act of intimidation to disrupt social harmony.”
Reiterating that it had been tirelessly working for years as part of its commitment to restore lasting peace and tranquillity in Nagaland, the GPRN/NSCN advised security forces/armies to desist from such kind of unwarranted actions and adhere to agreed Cease-fire Ground Rules (CFGRs).
