Adroit Boys was emerged as the champions of the 2nd Astro Turf Tournament held in Kohima on March 12 and 13 and walked home with Rs 25,000 cash along with trophy and certificate.
Adroit routed Team Contenders in the semi-finals to set up a final showdown with We the Brothers who defeated Score Heroes in the semi-finals.
In the final match, Adroit dominated the game throughout the first half.
Kezhangulie Medoze of Adroit scored the first goal for the team in the 6th minute.
After tough exchanges, Shürhosül Zhotso’s brace in the 24th and 28th extended the lead.
Two more goals were added to the team’s tally by Zeanikho and Thejaseto Gwirie in the 25th and 30th minute respectively.
With a comfortable 5-0 lead, Adroit secured their win over Brothers to lift the title.
The runners-up were awarded cash prize of Rs 15,000 and a certificate.
Adroit’ Rajusito Nagi was named the ‘Best Goal Keeper’ while the ‘Man of the Tournament’ was awarded to Noune Medoze of Brothers.
The second edition of the Futsal tourney was organised by OLOGOC- One Life, One Goal, One Chance Club. This year, 34 teams from across the State participated in the tournament.
