AGOK inaugurates new office

Morung Express News Kohima | July 13   The Angami Gazetted Officers’ Krotho (AGOK) inaugurated its office cum conference Hall on July 13 at APO building with Dr. Neikiesalie Kire, Minister for Environment, Forests and Climate Change as the chief guest.

Er. Visekholie Nakhro, Convenor, Furnishing & Reconstruction Committee informed that the Krotho received seven lakhs from donors for the construction of the office in which expenditure costs came to almost 5.35 lakhs. Angami Public Organisation (APO) President, Dr. Vilhousa Seleyi stated that the APO building was the contribution of the peoples’ hard work and contribution, and further credited the former leaders, elders, and their wisdom and intellect for which the APO has come this far and achieved milestones.   While exhorting the gathering, Dr. Kire shared the importance of meeting and dialoguing for an organisation or a group to be strengthened. Stating the futility of a structure if the leaders do not continue to meet Dr. Kire said, “Let not the dust collect in our tables and chairs. We are looked upon as the elder brothers. I believe that the more we meet the more understanding we have.”   Further pointing out the drawbacks of the community where there is very less understanding and communication within the leaders and the public, Dr. Kire appealed for the leaders to develop friendlier attitude with each other. Dr. Kire also shared some concerns such as the need for career guidance for the young where they can be guided with the career options based on their skills and interest. Asserting the Angamis lack the attitude of helping each other and further hoping for better things to come, Dr. Kire concluded, “If I can do a small thing for society, if you can do a small thing for the society, all put together we are doing something big. In a small way if we can help people I think that matters. Let it not just be a house built by hands but a home build by hearts.”
