KOHIMA, DECEMBER 10 (MExN): The Directorate of Agriculture organised a two day Winter Futsal League from December 6 to 8 under the theme ‘Unity and Fitness’ at Coraggio School, Lerie kohima.
The objective of the league was to foster better co-operation & coordination amongst staff members irrespective of rank and file and to emphasize the importance of keeping fit and healthy.
Director of Agriculture, M Ben Yanthan, as the special guest during the closing ceremony, conveyed his happiness and remarked that such endeavour should ultimately lead to more productive services. C Peter Yanthan, Additional Director of Agriculture also joined in the prize distribution and Medovilie Ladu, Joint Director of Agriculture, belted a melody for the listening pleasure of all the spectators. The programme was chaired by N Jacob Yanthan, Joint Director of Agriculture.
Administration & Establishment section emerged as the winner of the league while the Budget & Accounts section emerged the runners up. All the winners were accorded with cash prizes. Best player and highest scorer of the league were also awarded.
Altogether four teams—Planning & ATMA section, Programmes & Engineering Section, Budget & Accounts Section and Administration & Establishment Section participated in the event.
Vote of thanks was pronounced by Ronchamo Kikon, organising committee of the tournament.
