KOHIMA, MAY 4 (MExN): The Directorate of Agriculture accorded a befitting farewell to S Yongchang Phom, who retired as Director of Agriculture, during a programme held on May 1.
In his farewell address, Phom expressed gratitude to the officers and staff for their unwavering support throughout his tenure. Reflecting on his career, he highlighted the spirit of unity and camaraderie within the department and encouraged continued innovation and teamwork for the betterment of farmers and the promotion of sustainable agriculture.
A service profile of the retiring officer was read out by Additional Director of Agriculture, Medovilie Ladu, outlining Phom’s decades-long service, leadership, and significant contributions to the department.
Limanenla, NCS, Joint Secretary of Agriculture, and Bodevi Shuya, District Agriculture Officer, Chümoukedima, delivered speeches commending Phom for his humility, dedication, and exemplary commitment to the farming community.
The programme was chaired by the new Director of Agriculture, Sanuzo Nienu.
