Aizawl, August 16 (NNN): Civil Hospital, Aizawl organized special clinic for members of the Mizoram Journalists' Association for the fourth time today at Medical Superintendent’s Office here.

Speaking on the occasion, Aizawl Civil Hospital Medical Superintendent (MS), Dr. KL Remsanga said that even as the State Referral Hospital at Falkawn is being upgraded, the Civil Hospital cannot be done away with. The MS though admitted that the Civil Hospital lacks in terms of staff, equipment, premises, beds, and emergency service.   With the objective of serving the people better, the MS informed that 'Complaint Box' has been put up in 17 places within the hospital compound and the Customer Care Service Committee through which the public can address grievances. He asked the people to make use of the complaint box rather than hastily taking to social media.   The MS mentioned that 40% of the patients at Aizawl Civil Hospital are registered under BPL/ RSBY. He asked BPL families to carry BPL card to avail free treatment. In the absence of BPL card, BPL ration card is also accepted, he added.   Aizawl Civil Hospital has got 4 new machines recently, which included a Fully Automated Biochemistry Analyser C 73.
