DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 23 (MExN): The All Nagaland Karate-Do Association (ANKA) has announced that Akumienla L. Imchen, a Lance Naik in the 15th IR Mahila Battalion, has been selected to represent India at the upcoming 11th Commonwealth Karate Championships 2024. The event will take place from November 28 to December 1 in Durban, South Africa.
This historic achievement makes Imchen the first athlete from ANKA to compete at the prestigious Commonwealth Karate Championships, a significant milestone for Nagaland’s growing presence in the sport. Akumienla will compete in the Senior Female -68 kg category, a press statement received from ANKA stated.
Imchen hails from the Logdrum School Karate Club (Dojo) in Sangtamtilla Village, Dimapur. Her selection not only highlights her personal dedication and skill but also underscores the rising talent in Nagaland’s karate community.
