With a win against host team Royal Global University on November 9, 2025, Nagaland University has qualified for the All India Inter-University Tournament. The match ended 3–3 at full time, and Nagaland University clinched victory in the penalty shootout (4–1). Nagaland University participated in the AIU North East Zone University Championship from January 5-11, 2026, hosted by Royal Global University in Guwahati, Assam. Last year’s runners-up, securing second position in the tournament, Nagaland University squad consisting of 22-players squad was led by Coach Wati Longchar and Manager Mesanguto Meru, Deputy Director of Sports, Nagaland University.
