‘No one is above law’: DCCI on anti-social activities in Dimapur

Dimapur, September 24 (MExN): The Dimapur Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) has urged law enforcement agencies to remain “vigilant and proactive” during the festive season, “as the law and order situation tends to become more sensitive.” 

The DCCI, in a press release, extended full cooperation to the authorities while appealing to anti-social elements to desist from unlawful and disruptive activities, and to maintain peace and harmony in Dimapur.

The chamber appreciated the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, for the active service and duty of the police in apprehending extortionists and anti-social elements who have created unrest in the past few months. It expressed confidence that the police department would continue to work with the same dedication and commitment to maintain peace and security in the district.

The DCCI also acknowledged the business community’s inability to carry out normal activities or operate as usual due to the disturbances, and urged the authorities to extend support so that businesses can function without fear and interruption.

Stating that any person found involved in anti-social activities or violating the law should be immediately arrested and dealt with as per the law, the DCCI asserted, “no one is above the law.”
The chamber called upon all stakeholders to work together towards a “safer, more peaceful and prosperous Dimapur.”
