
DIMAPUR, JANUARY 26 (MExN): The All Nagaland Shaolin Kung-Fu Association (ANSKA) has once again brought pride to Nagaland and India by securing an impressive 13 gold medals and 4 silver medals at the 5th International Sports and Games Tournament. The event, held from January 21 to 23, in Phuentsholing, Bhutan, was organized by the International All Sports Games Federation.
The ANSKA team’s exceptional performance earned them the prestigious title of “Team Champion” at the tournament. Representing Nagaland were 17 participants and 5 team officials who competed across various categories against teams from multiple countries.
Among the medal winners, several stood out for their individual achievements. Gold medalists included Instructor Ayhunlo Jude Khing (under 75 kg), Assistant Namlang Zeliang (under 45 kg), and Assistant Avisa Suokhrie (under 60 kg), alongside ten others who excelled in their respective categories. The silver medalists included Hitali (under 40 kg), Ikazo Debbarman (under 40 kg), Simren Singh (under 45 kg), and Shahim (under 60 kg).
In addition to their stellar performance, three members of the association received national awards for their contributions and skills. Meyiesielie Albert Sorunuo received the “Best National Kung Fu Technical Award,” David Keneingutuo Sorunuo was honored with the “Best Honour Award,” and Ruokuo John Sorunuo earned the “Best Physical Trainer Award.”
