Dimapur, July 9 (MExN): The Naga 9 IRB deployed in Chhattisgarh have “no complain” and “alcohol-users have stopped and become regular attendee in the church service” according to the NPF Youth Wing Team which recently visited the Naga 9 IRB deployed at Barsoor in the Bastar region of Chhattisgarh, containing the Naxalite activities.
It was informed that the jawans are keeping fine and rendering yeomen services to the local people. “Another good impact on the personal life of our jawans is that, Barsoor being too far away from the next nearest town, the chances of loitering around during off-duty is too remote, thus all those habitual alcohol users have stopped and become a regular attende in the church services” the team informed in a report issued by Youth Wing President Kakuto Shohe and General Secretary Lhousito Khro.
Further, according to the NPF delegation, when the IR officers were queried for confirmation of many jawans deserting and “falling sick of malaria” they replied in Negative. “Although their duties are heavy and risks involved, they have no complain as it is naturally a part of life for a soldier” it was stated and “currently there is not a single patient for any type available when we visited their hospital”. The IRB jawans are also informed to have “no grievances for their accommodation facilities”.
The NPF team was also assured by 9 IRB officers that the deployment is maintaining utmost restrain for collateral damage and human right abuses while on operation. This has earned the Naga boys good rapport and trust of the local people in Chhattisgarh.
“Therefore they are not discouraged despite of being too far away from their loved ones at least another innocent human race in a foreign land is set free from the bondage and clutches of scavengers who are non other than their own people” the report stated. The Youth wing has appealed to the Naga people to pray for the Naga 9 IRB deployment in Chhattisgarh.
