DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 8 (MExN): The Amur Falcon Roosting Area Union (AFRAU) Pangti village today reported sighting more than 500 Amur Falcons hovering in the sky. This was observed as the AFRAU Pangti village conducted a social work at the Amur Falcon roosting area, Tzüza Eryü on October 8.  A press release from P Thungchumo Shidio, President, AFRAU, informed that viewing from the main watch tower at Tzüza Eryü, the falcons were seen flying in the sky. “The group of falcons was seen coming to their roosting site during the evening, where large number of falcons could be seen hovering in the sky as the sun began to set,” it added.
The AFRAU informed that the best time to witness the roosting of Amur Falcons is from October 15 to 20.

Meanwhile the AFRAU rued that while “thousand tourists from every corner of the world coming to watch the roosting of the migratory birds, the Amur Falcon, the road from Doyang Dam to Amur Falcon Roosting Area is in pathetic condition.” It, therefore, urged the Nagaland Government to take notice of it. The AFRAU Pangti village further invited all to the village, “the falcon capital of the world.” For queries and correspondence, the AFRAU informed people to contact 9862258907 or 9862510077.
