The Suruhuto Range Students’ Union representing the entire public of Suruhuto area appeal to the power department to take necessary action to restore power supply which had been cut off since the first week of October. The transformer (75 KV) stationed at Asukhomi village which supply power to entire Suruhuto 8 NAP. Hq. Naltoqa and adjoining villages had detected damaged. This is the third time the same transformer had damaged in the current year. It was first damaged in the month of May. After repairing it can hardly function for two days and damaged again. In the second week of Sept it was brought back from Dimapur and installed, but unfortunately the same transformer functioned for few weeks and damaged again. The concerned Dept had checked and confirmed that it was irreparable. The long awaited power recovery became useless and once again the people remain in darkness.
Sir, it becomes necessary to have power supply at the present situation for following reasons. First the final examination is commencing shortly and due to shortage of current the student community is largely effected. Secondly the CYF SBAK annual conference is scheduled to be held on 1st Jan. Thirdly the SRSU general conference is going to be taken place shortly, besides the Christmas season is approaching ahead. Without proper supply it cannot be possible.
It is therefore, the undersigned on behalf of the entire public earnestly appeal to the higher authority of concern Dept. to look into the grievances of the people seriously and take necessary measure to replace the ill feted transformer and provide proper power supply at the earliest.
