An appeal to Vigilance Commission Nagaland regarding Chozuba Phek Road NLCPR

We the undersigned are writing this to appeal the authority concerned and the State vigilance commission office to speed up the case on the issue regarding the construction of CHOZUBA-PHEK road. It is a very long time since the onsite enquiry has been done and yet no sign of action has been taken against the accused. On behalf of the many public who ply daily on the riverbed like road just because someone had withdrawn money without executing the work, we want to hear a response from the State Vigilance Commission what all steps have been taken and how far have the case gone by now after April 2012 and on spot verification in June2012?

This is concerning the citizens of not only Thuvopisumi, but also the whole Chozuba range as it is the main road leading to headquarter (PHEK). According to press release in local dailies (5th November 2012 front page)  the funds had been already transferred into some individual account without even executing the work, a sign of pure daylight robbery. Majority of us travel through that road to connect with our dear and near ones and also for all the necessary works at Phek been the head quarter, and with the kind of road we are in a miserable state. Maybe you travel by good cars so might not feel much of what we go through but we the public are suffering. Unless the theme for the present government is “to let people suffer to the maximum” we seek for early judgment on this issue.

Because of the road condition, many of the family bread earner’s (small business’) are suffering tremendously and becoming way too much to sustain the business. The state vigilance office should immediately book and arrested who ever the accused are and make sure that road is made at the earliest.

Since the work had not been done for such a long years we feel the contractor or firm is not competent enough to do the job. The concern authority should cancel the present contract and open a fresh tender for competent firm/contractors to complete the work. Further we also appeal that the incompetent contractor or firm should be blacklisted for not only tendering but also withdrawing money and not completing the work. We hope that the state Vigilance commission office will not overlook our appeal today and bring justice for the welfare of the people at the earliest.
