An eye-opener

Kamal Chetri

The recent NPSC bribery scandal should be an eye-opener to one and all, especially the Youth of the State. In the past, everybody knew about this fact, but no one had the guts to say or to expose the case. The credit goes to the print/news media for exposing the blood-suckers of the society -- the wolves in the guise of the innocent lambs. Now, we all should open not only eyes but ears too. Such types of anti-social activities must be fought by one and all ; through media or through processions, picketing etc. We should be able enough to fight for our rights. Any talented poor youth should get equal opportunities at par with the children of  people, who are wealthy  rich and influential.... the list is a long. The practice of bribe-taking must completely be stopped. The wrong-doers should be given a harshest of harshest punishment so that they would never again involve in such anti-social activities. The bribe-takers should also think that they too have children. They should realize that with the money they beget from bribery, how good and fruitful will be the life of their children. As a human beings, we should not try to put all our sins, wrong-doings to our innocent children. The bribe-takers should always think that there is someone very big above us who know everything, and that is GOD. Not only the bribe-takers, but the bribe-givers are also to be blamed equally. The point is -- A poor farmer who has a very brilliant son/daughter, cannot give bribe in terms of thousands, or even small amount hundreds, and why should he give bribe at all even if the amount is a meagre one.

That is why, these days we see most of the children of politicians, bureaucrats, businessmen, contractors etc. get the good jobs, I mean white colour jobs. Whereas, brilliant and deserving children of poor people don’t get anything -- except disappointments and frustrations. In my opinion, the wrong-doers -- should not be pardoned, not even if it is their first case. Because, whatever they are doing, they are doing it knowingly. So, no question of pardon as first timers. They are doing it to get wealthy and rich very fast! But, the educated people all around the world knows that there is no short cut for success -- or to become rich, or to become wealthy, wealthier, wealthiest. One has to toil hard to succeed. One has to give blood and sweat to become successful. Even the Holy Bible says that we (man, human beings) cannot fill the stomach (or eat) until and unless they shed blood and sweat. All men (if at all we are men/human beings)should know this. I personally have a thinking, a thought that the bribe-takers are not human beings, though they look like human beings in appearance. But, their characters and thinking and whatever they are doing is like that of lowest of the animals. And I don’t know what will be the lowest of the animals. The creatures which are not regarded and which are insignificent and which can’t be seen with our eyes and listened with our ears. We have to to vigilant now. So, I conclude: BEWARE EVERY ONE, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE (Its is already late). KUKNALIM.
