ANATG’s ‘pen-down strike’ from Wednesday

Dimapur, May 14 (MExN): The All Nagaland Ad-hoc Teacher’s Group (ANATG) 2015 Batch will observe its three-day ‘pen-down strike’ from May 16-18.  

The aggrieved ANATG 2015 Batch has no other option but to keep exercising its legitimate right in the form of protest in phase wise agitation till service regularization is done by the government, stated a press release from ANATG President Rüguotsolie and Asst. General Secretary, Tosoyol Sothu.  

The 1166 members of ANATG 2015 Batch, it said, have cleared all the formalities such as suitability test (departmental exam), documents spot verification and screening of documents from the P & AR department and waiting for “cabinet approval for service regularization from last year which is best known by the government.”  

Different categories such as GT, PT, Hindi Teacher, Carpentry Instructor, Physical Education Teacher, Knitting Instructor, Language Teacher, Drawing Teachers etc are in the group.  

The ANATG also informed that an ultimatum addressed to the advisor, School Education, Government of Nagaland for service regularization was served on April 30.  

Thereafter, the Group had a meeting with the Advisor, Principal Secretary, Secretaries and Director, School Education department and deliberated on this issue but it could not bring out any concrete solution or assurances from the government.  

Unfortunately, the ultimatum expired on May 11 and as decided earlier by the ANATG executives, the first phase of agitation in form of ‘pen-down strike’ for three days will begin on May 16, it added.  

The ANATG further informed all its members throughout the State to strictly adhere with the resolution passed by the group.  

“We also express our regret for the inconvenience caused and appeal support and cooperation from all right thinking citizens and organization,” the release said.
