The 18th biennial conference of All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) will take place from November 8 to 11 at Fazl Ali College, Mokokochung under the theme ‘Synergizing young minds.’
Chief Minister TR Zeliang will grace the inaugural function as the chief guest on November 9. Sushil Kumar Patel, DC Mokokchung will be the special guest at the introductory session on November 8.
Dr. Neizo Puro, asst. professor, department of Botany, Nagaland University Hq Lumami will be the theme speaker.
Parliamentary secretary for technical education N. Thomas Ngullie and Dr. Limaakum Jamir, Mission Director NHM will be the special guests for literary session and academic session respectively while parliamentary secretary for social welfare Merentoshi R. Jamir will be the guest of honour at the valedictory session.
Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) president Kesosul Christopher Ltu will share greetings on November 9.
The conference will also be marked by “Act on Clean Election” by St. Joseph College Jakhama while message will be shared by Rev. Dr. Mar Atsongchanger, executive secretary ABAM and coordinator, Clean Election NBCC.
Sevietuo Solo, director Project 72 hours will also deliver motivational talk during the conference.
Addressing a press conference here today, organizing committee convenor N. Ejanthung Ngullie hoped that the conference would bring impact in synergizing the young minds.
He said the theme ‘Synergizing young minds’ has been chosen for the students to explore the creativity power of the young minds.
This year, ANCSU would be introducing extempore speech, painting and photography competition.
ANCSU has requested all the affiliated colleges to delegate at least 25 students each.
More than 1000 students from 40 affiliated colleges in and around Nagaland will join the conference.
Union Assembly will also take place wherein students’ grievances will be raised and discussed, and resolutions will be taken accordingly.
Ngullie informed that ANCSU is planning to introduce “Student of the Year” award for every college based on their creativity and not only based on academic performance.
Election to the Executive Council and Union Assembly of ANCSU for the year 2017-19 will also be held on November 10.
Collegiate talent nite featuring songs, drama, dance, choreography, comedy and ethnic show have been scheduled for November 10.
Meanwhile, the organizing committee will award trophy with citation to the best discipline college of the 18th biennial conference.
