ANCSU digital protest continues

Claims over 1 million e-mails sent to govt officials

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 16 (MExN): The All Nagaland College Students’ Association (ANCSU) today claimed that it sent over 1 million emails to top government functionaries on the third day of its digital protest demanding the setting up of an enquiry commission to probe into the fund utilization at Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu, Zunheboto.

A press release from the ANCSU General Secretary, Imnameren N Jamir and Information & Publicity Secretary, Aochuba P Jamir informed that along with the e-mails, the union also made multiple calls to the Chief Ministers’ Office, Chief Secretary’s Office and other government functionaries.

“During the initial calls of the day, students were responded with ‘file is under process, kindly enquire from the Directorate of Technical Education,” the ANCSU informed. It stated that after a while some of the numbers were unreachable.

The ANCSU said that the Nagaland State Government has “deliberately ignored the voice of the students’ community.” It therefore stated that the union would intensify its ongoing protest with immediate effect along with the ongoing protest.

“The union units are apprised to be fully prepared for any call to express its fervent resentment against the State Government,” it stated.

The ANCSU digital protest began on October 12 with mass sending of emails to government officials.
