Kohima: The All Nagaland College Students Union (ANCSU), through a release, has advised students of Nagaland not to pursue higher educational courses with self- styled Universities. According to the ANCSU, there are 20 (twenty) self-styled Universities on the records presently, which are functioning in contravention of the provision of the UGC Act, 1956. They are:
The ANCSU has in this regard advised students seeking admissions outside Nagaland to be aware of such fake universities. Further, it has stated that as per the University Grants Commission these universities do not have any right to confer or grant degrees.
In cases of doubt, the students have been asked to check up the authenticity of the universities with the office of the UGC, Bahadurshah Zafar Marg, New Delhi-110002.
