Dimapur, April 28 (MExN): Andrea Kevichusa from Nagaland has scripted history by being the first from the State to win any award in the Filmfare Awards.
Andrea Kevichusa won the 68th Filmfare Awards 2023 ‘Best Debut Female’ for her outstanding performance in the movie ‘Anek.’ The film was written and directed by Anubhav Sinha where Andrea portrayed a Northeastern boxer.
68th annual Filmfare Awards function was conducted at the Jio World Convention Centre in BKC, Mumbai on Thursday night.
Congratulating Andrea Kevichusa, the Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio tweeted, “Congratulations to Andrea Kevichusa on being awarded Best Debut (Female) for her role as Aido in Anek at the 68th Hyundai @filmfare Awards 2023 with @maha_tourism. Happy to know that her hard work and talent have been recognized. I wish her the best for all her future endeavours,”
Alia Bhatt won the Best Actor (female) award and her film Gangubai Kathiawadi was declared the best film. Sanjay Leela Bhansali won the Best Director award.
The Filmfare Awards are presented annually to honour both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in the film industry of India.
