DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 2 (MExN): The All Nagaland Electricity Field Workers Association (ANEFWA) has temporarily called off its proposed agitation which was to begin from October 3 onwards after the Nagaland Government reportedly agreed to address their charter of demands.
A press release issued by ANEFWA president Ayeto Sumi and general secretary Tepuhosul stated that the demand for relaxation of qualifying years for promotion and retention of strength of 2052 work-charged employees under power department, as prescribed by the work-charged and casual employee commission and approved by the cabinet in 2002, have already been addressed positively by the government.
The Association also stated that the issue of post creation of 266 posts of field staff under power department and enhancement of risk allowance to the work-charged employees at par with regular employees are under active consideration by the government.
In view of the above circumstances, the Association in good faith has decided to keep in abeyance the proposed agitation which was to be staged throughout the state from October 3, 2019, the press release informed.
