Mokokchung, May 2 (MExN): The Assistant Nursing Midwifery (ANM) School of Nursing at Impur Christian Hospital (ICH) was inaugurated by Minister for Health and Family Welfare S Pangnyu Phom and dedicated by ABAM Executive Secretary Rev Dr Mar Pongener on May 2. 

Minister for Rural Development Metsubo Jamir and Advisor for the Department of Underdeveloped Area (DUDA) N Bongkhao Konyak also attended the inaugural programme, according to a press release from ABAM.

On the occasion, Minister Pangnyu said that such an initiative by a faith-based organization is very encouraging for both the government and all other organizations and thanked ABAM and the ICH Board of Trustees for being an example. ABAM is the first organization in Nagaland to come up with such prolific initiation and it is a message for all the people in Nagaland that only in the collective endeavor there is a holistic achievement, he added.

Dr Sashimeren Aier, Chairperson, ICH Board of Trustees, said that the Impur Christian Hospital which was established in 1912 has been significantly instrumental in healing ministry. The opening of the ANM School of Nursing is another milestone in the history of ICH and a dream come true, he said, adding that it was an honour for the ICH and ABAM to have been permitted by the state Nursing School Council to become one of the School centers of ANM. The hospital is committed to working towards giving holistic healing, he added.

Meanwhile, the ICH expressed appreciation and thanks to the team of the guest of honor S Pangnyu Phom for gracing the inauguration programme.
