Anna Yojana & Public Distribution System prog in Chümoukedima

Chümoukedima, April 12 (MExN): To mark the celebration of ‘Anna Yojana & Public Distribution System’ under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a programme was held at CPO Hall, Chümoukedima n April 12.
According to a press release, a brief report on Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) was delivered by I Anungba Sanglir, Deputy Director, F&CS. He stated that the department of F&CS focuses on the successful implementation of PMGKAY which is an additional allocation of food grains to all the beneficiaries covered under Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS) free of cost.
Sanglir said that during the first and second country-wide lockdown, when everyone was in fear and indoors, “the staff of F&CS department sacrificed our service for the people in the State and while on the line of duty some of our staffs even lost their life to COVID-19.”
The special guest, Dr Kuzonyi Wideo, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Chümoukedima said that Prime Minister's Food Security Scheme for the poor was announced by the Government of India in March 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic in India. However, there were some state/UTs in India who were unable to implement as per the directive of the GoI, due to the leadership of the CM of Nagaland and the tireless efforts and sacrifice made by the department of F&CS, the successful implementation of the Scheme was possible, he said.
P Vanlalpak K Gante, Divisional Manager, Dimapur also spoke during the programme while two NFSA beneficiaries shared testimonial words.
