In another fire incident in Dimapur, a tyre repairing and retail shop was razed causing lakhs in losses to the owner. The fire at the shop, located opposite the NST Central Workshop, was reported to have started sometime after 1 AM, April 19.
Timely intervention from the Fire and Emergency Services controlled the flames from spreading to adjacent shops. Fire fighters from two fire stations— Central and West, responded to the scene.
There was no report of any human casualty. The damage to property was estimated to be around Rs 15-20 lakhs. The property razed included tyre resoling machinery.
