Phek, September 26 (MExN): The All Nagaland Private School Association (ANPSA) Phek unit held its annual seminar on September 22 at Nazareth School, Pfutsero Town. 210 teachers from 27 schools along with their principals and headmasters attended the seminar.
Bithungo Kikon, president, ANPSA (Central) was the guest speaker. In his address, he insisted that the role of parents is to be more encouraging, supporting and appreciative of educative environment. He encouraged the teachers saying they are the foundation and attitude builders of the child, informed a press release. Bithungo advised the teachers to have a road plan for the future to set an example for the students to emulate.
Meanwhile, moderator of the seminar Sabu Koza, vice president, ANPSA Phek unit, who was specialist on D.El.Ed registration cleared many doubts raised by the teachers, according to the release. He encouraged the eligible teachers to make use of the opportunity to get themselves trained as it is much cheaper than the regular course.
During the interaction time, a group of panellists consisting of Fr. Philip Abraham, Thekho Rova, Bithungo Kikon and Sabu Koza answered numerous questions posed by the private school teachers. Some of the questions raised were why the government has so far not aided private schools financially, why government teachers receive most of the State Teachers’ Award when 75 percent of the students are educated by the private school teachers, and why the collection for the teachers’ token for Teachers’ Day celebration is a bit highly priced.
Earlier, the opening prayer was invoked by Fr. James, Headmaster, St. John School, Razeba, followed by welcome remarks from Fr. Philip Abraham, Advisor, ANPSA Phek unit and principal, Nazareth School. The vote of thanks was proposed by Thekho Rova, president, ANPSA Phek unit.
