ANPSA welcomes delinking of Class 11 & 12 from degree colleges

DIMAPUR, MAY 13 (MExN): The All Nagaland Private Schools’ Association (ANPSA) has welcomed the government notification delinking Higher Secondary, (+2) from degree colleges. “The New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 recommends schooling to be 5+3+3+4, taking into formal account the Pre Primary years of schooling too,” a press release from the ANPSA said.

It said that “as rightly pointed out in the NEP 2020,” students from classes 9 to 12 are taken as a block, more or less requiring the same kind of teaching and learning in a school atmosphere.

“Degree College should be a whole new exciting experience for students, where they step into a new world, with different methodologies of teaching and learning, different expectations and assessment patterns,” the ANPSA opined. It therefore said that the government notification delinking Class 11 and 12 from degree colleges is a welcome decision and hoped that it will be implemented in letter and spirit during this academic year.
